Established in 1912, our client develops innovative industrial insulation solutions and is highly respected in its industry, with a long-standing track record. Over the years, their willingness to invest in new technologies has enabled them to remain flexible and responsive in the marketplace.

OBJECTIVES

ACL Engineering’s remit was to evaluate the client’s needs, specify and install an air compressor and pipework system, to service a new production plant making insulation panels for battery systems. The end products will go into the electric cars of well-known prestige brands, playing an important role in the energy-conscious car-building processes of the future.

THE SOLUTION

AIR COMPRESSOR SYSTEM

Our team recommended the Atlas Copco GA18VSD^s variable speed compressor, which offers 60% energy savings versus fixed speed models. This rotary screw air compressor has premium credentials for sustainability and performance. It is therefore an ideal fit for the end use. The compressor was coupled with a standalone receiver, dryer, line filter, automatic drain and water separator for a complete end-to-end system.

PIPEWORK

A high-quality AIRnet pipework system was installed to connect the compressor to the end-use points for optimum air pressure delivery.

MAINTENANCE

The client also wisely opted for our Guardian servicing contract to ensure scheduled maintenance is regularly undertaken. This will contribute to the longevity and efficiency of this new system, leading to the best ROI.
