PROJECT: In-house Nitrogen Generation

TPSM is an ideas driven business operating for over 36 years within the sheet metal industry, helping clients find solutions to tricky mechanical and electrical design and manufacturing problems. As a progressive subcontractor, their in-house capability as part job shop, part contract manufacturer means they are able to put their ideas and problem solving into practice by producing the solution.

THE PROBLEM

This customer was coming to the end of a problematic agreement with their current Nitrogen Generation supplier. Equipment was failing with slow turnaround on repairs.

THE SOLUTION

ACL Engineering put together a quotation to supply, install and commission an Atlas Copco Nitrogen Generator system that was combined on one Skid* complete with a fixed price Guardian planned maintenance package that offered the correct maintenance schedules for 7 Years and covered them for any breakdowns.

*The Atlas Copco nitrogen skid package contains everything you need to generate your own high-pressure nitrogen on-site.

Outcome

A new automated Atlas Copco Nitrogen High Pressure SKID was installed at TPSM’s manufacturing plant in Ilford Essex, with an upgraded compressor to support the air usage on the Amada Laser cutting machines they operate 24/7.

Benefits

Energy savings were achieved by using a high efficiency, VSDs Atlas Copco upgraded compressor complete with a state-of-the-art Nitrogen Generator with high output, accurate purity and low running costs.
